Teacher instructing a classroom with...

Some things are simply better together: a cup of coffee and a quiet morning, sweet mixed with salty, or a great teacher and the right tools. When complementary classroom solutions work in harmony, they amplify impact. By combining solutions that build foundational skills with programs that encourage application and exploration, educators can create richer, more connected learning experiences. The result is greater student confidence, deeper understanding, and a smoother path from early learning to real-world readiness.

ExploreLearning’s K-12 math and science resources provide teachers and school leaders with a powerful suite of options to reinforce foundational topics from early childhood to graduation. Our STEM education tools work together to enhance core curricula and empower teachers to focus on what matters and do what they do best: teach with impact.

Supporting improved learning outcomes with multiple products

With increasing demands on instructional time and rising expectations for personalized learning, educators need solutions that are not only trustworthy but seamlessly stackable, building on each other to reinforce core skills across subjects and grade levels.

When used together, ExploreLearning’s research-based solutions promote continuity and coherence to help students build critical foundations to support long-term success. From introductory science with Science4Us (grades K-2) and math fact fluency with Reflex (grades 2+), to fractions foundations with Frax (grades 3+) and engaging STEM simulations with Gizmos (grades 3-12), our tools offer focused practice without replacing what already works in teachers’ classrooms.

ExploreLearning’s accessible products live on one common platform and pair with many Single Sign-On (SSO) services to provide flexible, easy-to-use resources for students and teachers. Educators benefit from access to high-quality resources, real-time student data, and adaptable content to meet each learner where they are, boosting confidence and instructional impact for long-term academic success.

Why product bundling leads to enhanced learning

By investing in tools that span multiple grade levels and disciplines, administrators can streamline professional development, simplify implementation, and ensure continuity in learning pathways. The result is a school or district-wide environment that supports long-term growth, measurable STEM outcomes, and a more substantial return on investment (and learning!).

For over 20 years, ExploreLearning has partnered with educators worldwide to serve millions of students. Our professional development team helps teachers take confident first steps toward long-term success with Gizmos, Reflex, Frax, and Science4Us, offering introductory and higher-level workshops to strengthen math and science pedagogy that extends beyond the products. Our goal is to help teachers gain a deep understanding of high-quality, research-based math and science instruction and build their skills to create the best learning experiences for all students.

We’re also committed to data privacy. Whether using one ExploreLearning product or all four, educators can confidently integrate the learning tools with peace of mind.

Strengthen elementary math foundations with research-based tools

Math fact fluency and fraction mastery are essential stepping stones for tackling more complex STEM concepts. Fact fluency frees up students’ working memory, and it’s one of the strongest predictors of standardized test performance. And research shows that knowledge of fractions significantly impacts students’ understanding of algebra and advanced math.

To target these critical skills, educators need focused tools that help students build foundations for higher-level coursework in the future. But the gains are also short-term. When students achieve grade-level proficiency with their math facts and fractions, teachers are empowered to extend learning and progress through their existing curriculum without reteaching the basics.

Reflex and Frax provide evidence-based math instruction to enhance existing classroom materials and curricula. Both programs are adaptive and game-based and use technology to support instruction through highly focused and individualized practice. When bundled together, Reflex and Frax produce more powerful results than in isolation. Reflex and Frax don’t replace but rather elevate the materials teachers already use in their classrooms.

Reflex

Boost math fact fluency skills

Reflex is 100% focused on math fact fluency, helping students develop automaticity as they complete fast-paced practice games that adapt to their levels of understanding. By using fact families and delivering the right facts at the right time for each learner, Reflex supports all students, including those on-grade-level and those in need of extra help.

Frax

Build critical conceptual understanding of fractions

Frax’s engaging, zero-entry program allows all students to develop a conceptual understanding of fractions as they complete carefully scaffolded space-themed games. When teaching fractions, Frax uses the number line as the central representation tool to help students grasp fraction magnitude required for advanced work with fractions.

Deepen STEM understanding with hands-on math and science

Math foundations are also essential for science success. Math skills set the stage for scientific understanding, research, and critical thinking. Students can get hands-on with science concepts while using Reflex and Frax for math instruction.

Support K-12 science with ExploreLearning

In elementary school, students can seamlessly progress from Science4Us (grades K-2) to Gizmos simulations (grades 3-12). Both tools include engaging standards-aligned content, thousands of online and offline resources, professional development, and pre-made materials to make science easy to implement, no matter a classroom’s time constraints.

As students enter middle and high school, they can dive deeper into the library of 550+ virtual Gizmos Simulations, STEM Cases, and Investigations to get hands-on with STEM topics covering multiple disciplines. Gizmos provide educators with high-quality instructional materials that increase autonomy and lesson planning creativity, rather than locking them into a set curriculum map or pacing guide.

Lay the groundwork for success in high-school math and beyond

In simulation-based learning environments, like virtual physics experiments or engineering challenges, students must apply math and science concepts fluently and accurately to test hypotheses, manipulate variables, and interpret results. Without a basic understanding of math facts, fractions, or scientific principles, these experiences can become frustrating rather than empowering.

Students with a solid understanding of early math and science concepts are better equipped to engage with real-world STEM applications and computer-based assessments.

The Gizmos library also includes a variety of math simulations to bring advanced math concepts to life, from algebra and geometry to measurement, data analysis, and more.

“Gizmos are amazing. They are extremely easy to use, and the content is presented in a way that is understandable to students. I like the fact that I can modify questions and student feedback to integrate previously taught concepts. I truly believe that EVERY math and science teacher should have access to the Gizmo activities. There is a wide variety of Gizmo activities that can be incorporated into many of the standards.”
–Middle school teacher

A two-year study found that 2nd graders who scored two or more grade levels below their peers in math improved by an average of 11 percentile points when they used Reflex, compared to 5 percentile points in non-users. When those same Reflex users advanced to 3rd grade and used Frax, students were 2.5x more likely to reach on-grade-level math proficiency by the end of 3rd grade compared to non-users.

“When students can focus more energy on problem-solving and understanding mathematics, they can learn better. I firmly believe that Reflex and Frax have played a large role in the growth that we have seen, and I expect this year, we will show even more growth overall in math.”
–Dr. Gina DiTullio, Elementary School Principal
