Judging process and educator involvement
Each year, STEM award entries receive a two-part evaluation process, first, by an expert panel of educator judges, including Dr. Linda Johnson-McClinton, Dr. Rachelle Dené Poth, Dr. Jeffrey Crapper, Dr. Omah M. Williams-Duncan, Jamica Craig, Kim Collazo, and Erin Barr. Once judges select the finalists, more than 260,000 STEM educators are given the opportunity to evaluate the finalists via survey.
“This year, AI was a new focus for our judges as many cutting-edge products are now integrating AI into their STEM offerings,” said Daylene Long, CEO of Catapult X and founder of the Best of STEM Awards. “Winners this year also stayed true to what research shows us works in science and STEM: hands-on learning, differentiated instruction, and three-dimensional learning.”
