Elementary Math Solutions
Reflex (for math fact fluency) and Frax (for fractions understanding) are evidence-based elementary math programs that enhance existing classroom materials and curricula. Rather than skimming the surface, Reflex and Frax provide focused instruction and adaptive practice to help students master the foundational skills that matter most. And thanks to game-based and individualized learning, both platforms give students the motivation and math confidence to take on what comes next!
A two-year study revealed the significant positive impact of Reflex and Frax on student achievement—even for those most at risk. 2nd graders who scored two or more grade levels below their peers in math improved by an average of 11 percentile points when they used Reflex, compared to 5 percentile points in non-users. When those same Reflex users advanced to 3rd grade and used Frax, students were 2.5x more likely to reach on-grade level math proficiency by the end of 3rd grade compared to non-users.

Reflex: The most effective math fact fluency solution
Grades 2+
Adaptive and individualized, Reflex is the most effective system for mastering basic facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Reflex can complement and strengthen core curriculum to support data-driven instruction.
- Engaging and motivating. Reflex continuously monitors math performance to help students build math strength at their own pace, while fun games and rewards boost motivation and confidence.
- Student success. Built on a fact family approach, Reflex helps all students develop fact fluency speed and accuracy. Across all achievement levels, students who use Reflex with high fidelity outscore their peers.
- Classroom support: Reflex includes intuitive and powerful reporting for teachers, schools, and districts to monitor student usage and celebrate progress.
- Response to Intervention (RTI): Reflex helps students at all intervention tiers succeed.
Frax: Make fractions finally make sense
Grades 3+
Frax stops the fraction struggle through an adaptive, game-based system that helps students build a strong understanding of fractions for ongoing success in higher mathematics.
- Foundational instruction. Students work extensively with length models and number lines to understand fractions as numbers first.
- Research-based success. Across all achievement levels, students who use Frax meet or exceed growth benchmarks at significantly higher rates.
- Engaging and effective. Each Frax mission features game-based challenges that build understanding while motivating students with rewards for effort and progress.
- Classroom support. With Frax offline activities, comprehensive support materials, and real-time reporting, educators can quickly discover when students are struggling and how to help.
Gizmos: The world’s largest library of math and science simulations
Grades 3-12
With Gizmos, students can model observable phenomena, take on the role of STEM professionals, and get hands-on with science and math concepts using inquiry and exploration.
- Conceptual understanding. Gizmos simulations use a learning approach validated by extensive research as a highly effective way to build conceptual understanding in math and science.
- Inquiry-based learning. Using Gizmos, students foster a deep understanding in STEM through interactive, inquiry-based modeling and experimentation. STEM Cases allow students to step into the role of STEM professionals to solve real-life problems.
- Expansive library. 550+ Gizmos and STEM Cases are aligned to textbooks, curriculums, and Illinois standards. Go hand-in-hand with the 5E Instructional Model and promote Depth of Knowledge levels to help students foster strategic and analytical thinking.
- Lesson support. Each Gizmo includes comprehensive and customizable lesson resources, including teacher guides, vocabulary, student exploration sheets, supplemental activities, and assessments.
Science4Us: Give kids a head start in STEM
Grades K-2
Science4Us gives students a head start in STEM with modules covering Inquiry, Physical Science, Life Science, and Earth & Space Science.
- Literacy and math connections. Through literacy and math-infused lessons built around the 5E Instructional Model, Science4Us helps students develop foundational science knowledge with interactive games, songs, virtual notebooks, hands-on experiments, and more.
- Flexible. 28 content-rich modules include thousands of online and offline developmentally appropriate activities that can be completed in as little as ten minutes to meet your instructional needs. Science4Us is compatible with all devices, perfect for whole-group lessons, centers, small groups, or individual work.
- Evidence-based. In a McREL study, students who used Science4Us showed greater academic gains on a posttest than non-users.

Everybody's Talking About Gizmos
“Gizmos help meet all of the NGSS Science and Engineering Practices, specifically modeling and analyzing and interpreting data. They have been helpful for students to explore and manipulate complex concepts, especially those that are time-bound (like evolution and predator-prey interactions). I felt completely prepared to use Gizmos in my classrooms and gained valuable instructional techniques with the professional development workshops. Gizmos have made my lessons more interactive and have made it easier to explore complex topics. Since the Gizmos are aligned to standards, I know exactly which standards are being covered by each activity. This also helps me when I look back at formative assessment data to determine which concepts need to be retaught. Gizmos definitely made difficult concepts in environmental science easier for my students to understand and demonstrate mastery this year.”
-Teacher. Chicago Public School District, IllinoisEverybody's Talking About Frax
“My students have benefited from using Frax daily. I have noticed a stronger foundational understanding as we have worked through our fraction unit in the classroom. They enjoyed the game and mission aspect of the program. Since I started using Frax about 2-3 weeks prior to starting my fractions unit, my students came in with a better understanding of the basics of fractions. This has made it easier to extend their knowledge to meet fourth grade standards from what they learned in third grade. I do not feel like I have had to spend as much time reviewing the basics as in years past.”
-Teacher, IllinoisEverybody's Talking About Reflex
“Amazing progress! I use the Reflex reports and certificates. Students exhibited major growth on the benchmark within the area of multiplication and division computations. Being in a low-income school district, we have many students who do not enter fourth grade with the math knowledge and exposure to participate in math lesson discussions. I have seen a major shift since starting Reflex. When I am teaching, low students are now participating. They are raising their hand as quickly as their higher peers with answers in regard to math facts. The students cheer when it is time for Reflex!”
