5.1: Identify that living organisms are composed of cells and that a single cell is the smallest unit of life. Describe similarities and differences between cells in plants and animals. Observe and explain that cells can come together to form tissues and that tissues can form organs.
5.2: Describe that the features of each organism are inherited from its parents. Explain why small differences in features between parents and off spring can result in descendents generations later who are quite different from their ancestors. Explain why individual organisms may have an advantage in surviving and reproducing in a particular environment due to certain features.
