Using Gizmos on an Intel-Based Mac Computer
Where's the Gizmo?
We have detected that you are using a newer, Intel-based Macintosh computers. To view ExploreLearning Gizmos, please get the latest Shockwave Plugin and Flash Plugin.
If you are unable to install the latest Shockwave Plugin, please use the following workaround in order to use Gizmos on an Intel-based Mac.
Applications like both Safari and Firefox default to running in native mode on the new Intel-based Macs and therefore you must follow a few simple steps to instead have then run in Rosetta emulation mode:
Note: This workaround method below does not work with Firefox web browser below version 2.

- Quit the Safari browser (if you currently have it open).

In the dock, click and hold on the Safari icon.

Select "Show in Finder."
- In your finder window, select/highlight Safari then choose File » Get Info or use the Apple-i keyboard combination.

In the "Safari Info" window, select the checkbox labeled "Open using Rosetta."
- Close the "Safari Info" window and relaunch the Safari browser. You'll now be able to use Gizmos.
